About Me
I am a lifelong resident of Hawai`i who grew up in a pineapple plantation village on the island of Oah`u. After graduating from Leilehua High School, I attended the University of Hawai`i -Manoa where I achieved my dream of becoming a teacher. I started my career as an educator with the Head Start program, working with disadvantaged preschoolers. I later taught at Wheeler Elementary and Mililani Mauka Elementary in the Department of Education. In 2000, I began a program to become a school administrator, and in 2003, I was appointed to be the principal of Hale Kula Elementary School, later renamed Daniel K. Inouye Elementary School. I retired as a principal in 2018 after 45 wonderful years as an educator. My husband Randy and I raised three sons, Justin, Jarand, and Jordan, and we have two grandsons, Jace and Jayden, and a dog named Iwak. |
